The United Way is the largest Volunteer led, not for profit Movement which spans across the globe, with local United Way Organizations established in 47 countries and territories. Each organization however is unique to its community, its country and its culture. However, they all are united by the simple idea that people in a community can come together, pool their resources, and work collectively to deal with compelling community issues in a way that is more powerful than any one individual or entity alone. All the local United Way movements function in accordance with the global standards of Ethical Behavior, Transparency, Accountability, Efficiency and Effectiveness. United Way of Delhi works for the community of the NCR region and other multiple location across the country for Developmental Program in the areas of Education, Environment, Public Health and Livelihood. It invites applications for the post of Education Coordinator. A minimum of one year engagement is recommended for the benefit of both the individual’s learning and the organization.

United Way Delhi is looking for Community Mobilizers on an immediate basis for mobilizing and aware the community on importance of education, and other issues related to the same domain. The person must have the skills and experience to deliver on Key Performance indicators (KPIs) in the following areas:

Description:

  • Promote the importance of primary education and community involvement
  • Engage with the local communities and parents to raise awareness about the project on routine basis
  • Collaborate with local leaders and other stakeholders to build support for the project
  • Organize community meetings and events periodically to sensitize and aware community and stakeholders
  • Mobilize resources and volunteers from the community to support project activities.
  • Providing regular updates to the project lead/management about the opinions and concerns of the community so that strategic decisions can be made
  • Accountable for establishing Organizing WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sessions and SMC meetings in assigned schools and communities
  • Any other responsibility assigned by the management

You are the right person if you are:

  • Self-starter and can lead project implementation independently
  • Organized and an excellent communicator- written as well as oral
  • A people's person with natural flair and passion towards addressing community mobilizing and awareness on social issues in underserved communities
  • Proficient in communicating in English and Hindi (proficiency in regional language will be an added preference)
  • Proficient with MS office and an excellent team player
  • Willing to travel extensively in the field almost on daily basis and work in challenging  situations

Qualification:

  • Graduate in any stream with good percentile from a reputed university (preference to be given with focus on rural development)
  • Minimum 2 years experience of working in community and a sound knowledge of social issues preferably in education domain

Remuneration:
Subject to relevant qualification, experience, merit and as per the organization`s norms.
