United Way Delhi through its health care programs tries to target the underserved populations in urban backyard with the objective of providing easy access to healthcare and awareness on prevention
United Way Delhi’s WATSAN Improving Water and Environmental Sanitation is being implemented in 14 schools facing a severe sanitation issues. Under the project, PORTA Toilets are provided to each school and behavioral change work shops on WASH for differents take holders i.e., School Management Committee, School staff, and Students are conducted on regular basis.
The project caters to the autistic people from 0-30years of age by providing with special education and vocational training. The major focus of the project is to provide them with an inclusive environment that supports their education, growth, and development. The project also works to increase awareness and sensitivity towards autism and other disabilities ingeneral.
Project HOPE India is a comprehensive capacity building program on prevention, early diagnosis management, and timely referral of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) for primary care physicians. The project focuses on the skill enhancement of medical officers on technical and management aspects of NCDs, with a special focus on NCDs and their complications.
A major section of the underprivileged communities in India do not have access to quality healthcare, while the same is unaffordable for the people belonging to economically backward families. United Way Delhi, with its health initiatives, works to provide the marginalized communities with access to quality healthcare.
