United Way Delhi is an independent local not for profit organization affiliated to the United Way Worldwide Family- one of the World’s Largest Leadership with 1800 affiliate chapters across 41 countries.
Together, we have been working relentlessly since 2008 to advance the common good for the local community through innovative programs in Education, Healthcare, Environment and Livelihood.

United Way Delhi’s Neev program aligns with the worldwide campaign Born Learning. The program aims to improve the development of children of 0-6 years of age by providing them with child-friendly infrastructure, improving their school readiness, and enhancing the role of caregiver in children’s development. Under Neev, we are currently serving over 60 Anganwadi Centers and 13 Nursery Schools.
Believing in the idea of “Quality Education for All”, United Way Delhi’s School Support Program aims to improve the learning infrastructure of selected government schools in Delhi-NCR, help the school students achievedig it all iteracy and learning support, and provision safe drinking water and hygienic cooking space to also improve the health of students.
Karvaan is a resource center for school-going, dropout, and graduate youth to develop as leaders and mentors in their community and take a field level action on local issues of relevance; becoming socially responsible citizens. The center envisages for itself, to be the knowledge hub to accelerate individual growth through Remedial Classes, Digital & Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Youth Leadership Life skills, Vocational Skill development, Sport, Career Counselling, Personality Development, Sexual Health & Hygiene, Emotional and Mental Health Awareness.
The School Centered Community Development Program of United Way Delhi envisages that all students achieve their full potential through contextual interventions in early childcare & education, primary and higher education, skill-building in the youth, and the caregiver & community awareness. The program has three stages namely Born Learning, School Support Program, and Youth Resource Center.
Project Samriddhi was started with an objective of supporting women from disadvantaged and poor households, for economically empowering them to be able to provide for a better quality of life for their families.
The project has reached out to over 700 women so far through training on financial literacy and inclusion. Besides financial literacy training, 140 of these women were hand held to step in to entrepreneurship.
To improve schools and the overall education system through innovative approaches along with holistic development of students including their personal growth. The program incorporates activities through ‘Chetna-Youth Resource Centre’ to empower youth as well as guide them in stages of development.
United Way Delhi’s WATSAN Improving Water and Environmental Sanitation is being implemented in 14 schools facing a severe sanitation issues. Under the project, PORTA Toilets are provided to each school and behavioral change workshops on WASH for different stakeholders i.e., School Management Committee, School staff, and Students are conducted on regular basis.
STEM on Wheels program of United Way Delhi provides an exhibition van which is equipped with more than 80 educational models of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The STEM on Wheels program is leveraged to deliver STEM – hands-on learning sessions to improve conceptual understanding of science and enable young minds to connect their learning with everyday life. UWD’s instructors deliver multiple activities in schools and communities using STEM models.
The project aims to improve the conceptual and practical learning of the students through various classes related to STEM-tinkering Lab. The lab set-up in Government schools in Delhi NCR is equipped with models related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & mathematics) and the students get hands-on experience of STEM kits, robotic kits and modules under the supervision of a trained facilitator. In addition, the students receive Digital Literacy, Conceptual Learning, Life-Skills Training, Career Counselling and many more to help develop their interests to participate in competitions for showcasing talent and creativity.
Through NIRA- Nature Is Requesting Action, United Way Delhi works to combat the issue of environment degradation and promote environment-sustainability in the conscious efforts of people. Through our initiatives, we help provide communities with a greener, safer, and healthier environment across India. We integrate the components of environment in our projects as well as volunteering initiatives to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and raise awareness about the cause.
Green Your School is an annual program open to schools across India. The schools are encouraged to come up with ideas which can improve, restore, beautify and can convert the existing school into a green school. Schools are shortlisted each year and presented a cash award for implementation of a green building. Further to completion of implementation, certification to the school as a Green School is given.
